How We Make Money

AIML Marketplace is free to use. We pay for it in four ways, and this page names each one so you can weigh what you read here. None of them changes what we write about a tool or a company, or whether we report its limitations.

1. Who runs this site

AIML Marketplace is operated by Empirical Edge Inc., a software development company in Marlton, New Jersey. Empirical Edge is itself listed in our provider directory, and its profile says so. If you ask us to recommend providers, we may suggest Empirical Edge among others; we will always tell you when we do.

2. Sponsored listings

Some companies pay a fee to be featured. Their profiles carry a “Sponsored listing” line, and the featured rows on our homepage are labelled Sponsored. Paying gets a company into those featured rows; it does not change its profile, its assessment or its position in the main directory listings, which are ordered the same way for every company.

3. Affiliate links

The “Visit Website” button on a tool profile is an affiliate or referral link. If you sign up or buy through it, the vendor may pay us a commission. You pay the same price either way. Every tool profile with such a link shows a disclosure beside the button.

4. Advertising

Some pages show advertising served by Google AdSense. Advertisers do not choose which tools or companies we list or what we say about them. How advertising uses cookies is explained in our Privacy Policy.

5. Consultation requests

If you book a free consultation or submit a service request, we introduce you to providers that fit what you need. You do not pay us for this. We do not sell your details, and we only pass them to the providers you agree to be introduced to.

What money does not buy

  • A better or longer write-up, or the removal of limitations we found.
  • A higher position in the main AI tool or provider listings.
  • A “Hands-on tested” label. That label appears only on tools we have actually used ourselves; every other profile says “Researched, not tested”.
