Explee Review: Features, Pricing & Alternatives

Most AI outbound tools ask for a subscription and a seat count before you have sent a single email. Explee, which used to be called AutoGTM, works the other way round: finding leads is free, and you pay roughly four cents for each email its agent sends, with no subscription. That makes it one of the cheapest ways in this directory to test whether cold email works for your market, as long as you are comfortable letting an agent send on your behalf from mailboxes it runs.
What It Actually Does
You enter your website. The agent reads it to work out what you sell, then suggests buyer segments with a fit score for each. From there it finds decision-makers by industry, role, company size and location, checks their email addresses, and only contacts the ones that pass verification.
It then writes an individual email to each lead, sends it, and follows up, staying inside a daily budget you set. When a lead asks for a call, it replies with your booking link. A dashboard shows each campaign’s status and the cost per lead.
Emails go out from pre-warmed mailboxes that Explee manages, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC already configured, rather than from your own domain. Mailboxes that get blocklisted or bounce too often are paused automatically.
Key Features
- Website-based targeting — the agent proposes buyer segments from your site, so you do not start with an empty search form.
- Built-in prospecting data — a company database the vendor puts at 105M+ companies, searchable by industry, role, size and location, so no separate data subscription is needed.
- Email verification before sending — only addresses that pass Explee’s checks are emailed, which protects deliverability.
- Personalized emails and follow-ups — each prospect gets an individually written message, with follow-ups handled automatically.
- Reply handling — when a prospect asks for a call, the agent sends your booking link.
- Managed sending infrastructure — pre-warmed mailboxes with authentication set up, and automatic pausing of mailboxes that run into trouble.
- Daily budget control — spend is capped per day and can be changed at any time.
- Your own lists — you can upload a CSV of existing contacts, which goes through the same verification before sending.
- Wide coverage — any country or US state, city where available, and 30 email languages.
- API — public API documentation is available for teams that want to connect it to their own systems.
Where It Fits Best
Explee suits founders, small sales teams and agencies that sell to other businesses and want to find out quickly, and cheaply, whether outbound email produces meetings for them. Because there is no subscription or seat licence, the cost of a failed experiment is the credit you spent, not an annual contract.
It also suits teams with no sending setup of their own. Buying domains, creating mailboxes and warming them up is tedious, and Explee bundles all of it.
It fits less well when outreach has to come from your own domain and brand, when you need sequences across LinkedIn, phone or SMS as well as email, or when activity must sync into a CRM. The site lists none of those.
Tradeoffs Worth Knowing
- Email only. The site describes email as the only outreach channel. Multichannel sequences are not part of the product as described.
- Not your domain. Prospects receive mail from Explee-managed mailboxes. That protects your main domain’s reputation, but replies and brand recognition do not build on your own address.
- Vendor figures are unaudited. The “97% inbox rate”, the live lead counter and the customer results are the company’s own claims. The site also quotes cost per lead as both “$1–$20” and a “median” of $9, so treat any per-lead figure as an estimate.
- Compliance is shared. Explee relies on legitimate interest and publicly available professional data. It places responsibility on customers for honouring opt-outs, keeping a suppression list, answering data requests within 30 days and complying with GDPR, CAN-SPAM and CASL.
- Security certification is pending. Explee says it is preparing for SOC 2 Type II rather than holding it. That matters if your procurement process requires a certified vendor.
- No CRM integrations listed. Beyond CSV upload, the booking link and the API, the site lists no integrations.
Practical Notes
Outreach pricing. Pay-as-you-go with no subscription. Finding leads is free and each email costs about $0.04, so $30 covers roughly 750 emails. The vendor estimates that volume produces about 2–6 warm leads and about one meeting. Credit is charged in batches of $5 or more.
Trial. New accounts get $30 of credit once billing is set up. A card is required to verify the account, and your bank may place a temporary $1 hold. There is also a free demo that shows which prospects the agent would contact for your website.
Data products. Explee also sells bulk B2B data delivered as files. The global dataset lists up to 105M companies and 536M decision-makers; the US and EU sets list 22M+ and 31M+ companies respectively. Semantic search and custom AI enrichment are free, deep research starts from $5 per 1,000 records and emails from $10 per 1,000. A Google Maps dataset of 210M+ places with 51 fields is priced on request.
Company. Explee LTD is registered in England (company no. 15759064), with an address at 50 Essex Street, London.
Opting out. People who want their details removed from Explee’s database can email [email protected]. The company says it responds within 30 days.
How It Compares
Against AiSDR, the difference is scope. AiSDR writes outreach across email and professional networks, bundles domains, mailboxes and warm-up, and offers an approval mode for human sign-off. Explee is narrower, email only, but costs nothing until emails are sent.
Against Reply.io, Explee trades breadth for simplicity. Reply runs sequences across email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, SMS and calls and syncs with HubSpot and Salesforce, but its Multichannel plan is per user per month, and its AI SDR agent is priced separately. Explee has no seats, no channels beyond email and no listed CRM sync.
Against Amplemarket, the contrast is commitment. Amplemarket’s plans are sold annually and custom-priced for larger teams; Explee can be tried for $30 and stopped at any time.
Pick Explee to test outbound cheaply or to add an email channel without building sending infrastructure. Pick one of the others when you need multichannel sequences, CRM sync or outreach from your own domain.
What to Verify Before Choosing Explee
General checks for any vendor (contract terms, data protection, ownership, exit) are in our AI software vendor questionnaire. The points below are specific to Explee.
- Current per-email price and whether credits expire, on the vendor’s pricing page.
- Data coverage for your actual target countries, roles and company sizes — run the free demo against your own website first.
- Bounce and reply rates on a small first batch before raising the daily budget.
- Whether sending from Explee-managed mailboxes, rather than your own domain, is acceptable for your brand.
- How replies reach your team, and whether you can export activity into your CRM.
- Your own legal basis and opt-out process for prospects in the EU, UK and Canada.
- Security requirements: SOC 2 Type II is in preparation, not certified.
Our Review
